Ingredients
Bananas
- 2 bananas, halved lengthways
- 14 g butter
- 28 g brown sugar
- 1 g cinnamon
- Pinch of sea salt
To Serve (optional)
- vanilla ice cream
- thick greek yoghurt
- Drizzle of honey
- crushed walnuts
- pecans
Method
Caramelise
- 1
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C for 2 minutes.
- 2
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and sea salt together to form a paste.
- 3
Place the banana halves cut-side up in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- 4
Spoon or brush the sugar-butter mixture generously over the cut side of each banana.
- 5
Air fry at 200°C for 6–8 minutes, until the tops are bubbling, golden, and deeply caramelised. Watch from the 6-minute mark — ripeness affects timing.
Serve
- 1
Carefully transfer the bananas to a plate (they'll be very hot and soft). Serve immediately over vanilla ice cream or yoghurt, with an extra drizzle of honey and a handful of crushed nuts if you like.
